Journal #9

Well this journal is for all of you golf lovers out there who watched the British Open a couple of weeks ago. For those of you who didn't i'll give you a quick summary of it. Ricky Fowler finished in the top 5 for his third major straight this year. I kind of feel bad for the poor guy because he has been in contention for every single major this year but he hasn't won one yet. Then I remind myself how much money he makes and that feeling is gone in a flash. Now Rory Mcilroy won the event and get this his dad had made a bet that he would win a British Open by the time he was 25, Rory was 24. Overall it was a great four days of golf and now we have only one major to look forward to and that is the PGA Championship.

Journal #10

Today as I was sitting doing my homework for my library science class it hit me. Now what hit me you may ask, it was that we only have a week of school left. That feeling was one of the best in my life, by a longshot. Now this summer has flew by now that is thanks to mainly school and work. I'm not sure whether I'm ready  to go back to high school for another year. Don't get me wrong its a party and all, especially with it being my senior year but I hate homework. I think that we should all have to go to school just with no homework and I know we wouldn't learn anything but right now that doesn't sound half bad. So if anyone reading this blog happens to be a school administrator or something like that I know it will never happen but hey a high schooler can dream right?

Journal #8

Well this past week I have been working on a literature review and for all of u that haven't ever had to write one consider yourselves lucky. While I understand why they are important, it kills me to still have to write the dang thing. Now that it is behind me though I am glad I did it because it gave me a more in depth understanding of my topic. So now all I have left in this class is the argumentative essay and for once in my life I have actually started an assignment before I turned in my last one.

Journal #7

Well I missed class on because I am down here in St. George. While the weather down here is great it is very hot. Some things that I have been able to do include golfing, swimming and playing a bunch of sports in general, so overall it has been a good vacation and I’m glad to be down here.

Journal #6

This post is talking about my research topic and the many different opinions that are involved with my topic. My topic discusses weather cell phones are considered carcinogenic which means do cell phones cause cancer. There are many different opinions on the topic one of them is that cell phones cause cancer. These people believe that cell phones make people develop all kinds of cancer with the main one being brain cancer. There are also the people that believe the exact opposite of that. This group of people believes that cell phones don't ever cause cancer. Then of course there are all of those fence sitters. They believe that cell phones may cause some kinds of cancer and not others. So those are the three main groups involved with cell phones as possible carcinogens.

Journal #5

Well this past weekend I was able to go camping in the Uinta’s and it was a bit of an adventure. Me and some friends went up Thursday and started to hike into our campsite. For the hike the weather was great most of the way up. Unfortunately that would soon change, just as we were setting up camp a huge rainstorm blew in and it rained pretty hard the rest of the day. That night however was an even bigger challenge. For those of you who have gone backpacking before you know the tents aren't the most waterproof things in the world and these were no exception. By the time we woke up in the morning we were sleeping in a big puddle, which isn't the warmest thing in the world but the weather had cleared up. So being the optimistic people we are we headed out on a short hike that morning to a couple of lakes in the area. As we started back our worst fears had come true it was raining again, and this time even harder.

So as we returned to camp soaked from head to toe we decided to take a vote on whether to stay or to go. After a pretty unanimous vote we decided on cutting our trip short, mainly due to the poor sleeping conditions. So as we packed up the puddles we called our tents we headed out in the rain. Thankfully the hike wasn't a very long one so we were out of the rain and into our cars within a couple of hours. As for the people that say Utah is in a drought right now they need to head to the Uinta's before making that statement.

Journal #4

With this being my fourth journal I feel its important to talk about the fourth of July. Not only am I glad that I was able to do some fun things like golf and go swimming this fourth of July weekend. I am also glad I live in the country that I do. With my Grandfather serving in Vietnam I am able to get ever so tiny glimpses into what it was, and is like for people in the military. So I thank all of our current and former armed services members for all keeping America the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Journal #3

Well this week has been a crazy one especially with the fourth of July. It was all fun especially because I was able to get in touch with some extended family this weekend. But this week also unfortunately the U.S. soccer team lost in the World Cup which was a bit of a downer. I look forward to watching some more soccer as the World Cup continues this week.

Also as a follow up with my other journal the Uruguayan soccer player Luis Suarez, the guy who bit another guy, was issued a suspension from international play. While I think it was good that he was punished I'm not sure that FIFA is doing enough to stop it from happening a fourth time but only time will tell.
